I agree with the dynamic range part. The song is really good and has vocals - yay! Maybe some differences in velocity of notes in chords in the piece would make it sound more interesting, for example the highest note plays at top, leading to lowest note least velocity in a single chord, and then the second time the same chord is used, the opposite with velocity. IDK I just think it would sound better that way. The song is a little sharp but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Pan occasionally left and right in an automation clip might be nice as well. Also the song sounds really good the way it is right now.

Aydin-Jewelz123 responds:

Nice one dude, great tips! Gonna jot those down for future reference.

Never really tinker much with velocities of notes, only really on piano or orchestral bits and even then I would never have thought to do what you suggested! It does sound pretty neat, especially to add some flavour to the piece without going through and having to completely change sections. I guess it changes the emphasis right?

Panning too, I usually pan things as I go but here I was more concentrated on just getting a loud, complicated sound and left the panning to the end. By then I'm kinda familiar to how it sounds so didn't do much in terms of panning outside of the sweepers.

Will have a dig at those sometime and see if I can improve the track! Sure does make sense in my mind, just a case of figuring out where to do it.

Cheers dude

It's pretty good and interesting, but some plain background music at a low volume would help it a bit I think. Pm me if you want an example and I can make something for you to play in the background, as a test.

GroundsPatrol responds:

Thanks belthagor. I think i might experiment with some light BG music in segments that aren't interviews...

5/5, Great work. The only thing would be that it doesn't sound very chaotic, as the title says.

Deff-Strife responds:

I agree with you, I have problems with it :)

Very nice track! Did you make it in fl studio?

IXentimenTI responds:

Yeah I work in FL. :)

Very nice work as usual. Is it based on an existing video game, and did you make this for our project?

MajorMusic responds:

You can use it for your project if you wish, but I made this just because I could.

Melody is nice, favorite part 1:46-2:14. Being a novice musician, I am probably one of the few reviewers that have their automatic bass boost effect turned off in windows, so I can rate this a 5/5 without any effects on. Could be good for background music while playing need for speed or some other racing game, it just gives me the racing vibe ya know, speed up, slow down. Volume is good, changes in volume and velocity are good. I would extend the last few seconds by a bit, making it a slower fade out, but that's only my personal taste.

ShockblastDeluxe responds:

Thanks for the input!

Very good melody and rhythm. Song volume and volume changes are fine. I'm impressed you made this in only 3 days. What software did you use to make this? I like part 1:20-1:33 most, and the ending as well. The only thing I would improve is make it longer, because it was nice to listen to. Wavelength only means differences in volume left and right, so you shouldn't be worried about not having a symmetrical wavelength. The song could use a bit more reverb imo, maybe a delay effect as well, but that's purely advice based on my tastes. Idk what else to say, it was pretty good. 5/5

Thank you Belthagor! What a great review! Thanks! I am using Ableton 9, and all of the tracks are live instruments except the drums, which I used Superior Drummer 2.0.

I am still kinda new at it. I have been using SD for years, but still can't seem to handle it right lol... Well, I suppose it comes down to really knowing how to EQ drums. I still don't have it yet I don't think.

Thanks again for your feedback, it really inspires me.

I am a Mario fan, and this is pretty good. Fast paced, matches the theme of the game. You have a whole 7 seconds of silence at the end of the track, 01:57 / 02:05, and I'd remove that so it sounds a bit more professional. Volume of audio is fine, but I would make more differences in volume, some parts increase/decrease. A great tip I can give is: post what program and vsts you used to make this in the description. Aside from all that, great job 4.5/5.

GoToMyNewAccount responds:

I agree with the volume thing. It could be better. Next song I'll take that into consideration. I also took your advice on the plugins list. However, the fade out in the track is due to Newgrounds loop function not working very well anymore.

I really appreciate your review. Thank you!

I never listened to grunge before but this isn't very melodic...

FUNKbrs responds:

It's not really metal or punk either. I always tell people this is my dad rock band because everyone else in the band has a bunch of kids and a good job.

I'm basically a ringer in this band.

I'm getting sleepy after looping it a few times, it's super effective. 5/5 :D

What did you use to make this?

MajorMusic responds:

A piano and my hands!
