It looks great! How much did the entire package cost? Pop filter, microphone, and that box with reverb and other settings.

DrSevenSeizeMD responds:

Between $300-$400 for everything I think.
I bought all 3 separately.

Marilyn Monroe had better watch herself... she's got some competition. xD

(I am sorry for this review, I thought it would be funny.)

poptaffy responds:

demisurge please be nice

It's too dissonant in many places. I get what you were going for though. It definitely wakes you up a bit, by being fast paced. It's a bit panicky in certain areas. The volume level is okay, you could experiment with more volume changes, pan left and right a bit, maybe a few instruments one direction and the rest the other. Experiment and see what works for you. Obviously I am no professional musician so everything I say can be taken with a grain of salt in these reviews. I hope I was able to give good advice. I'm going to vote 5 based on the genre, because I feel the music is fitting to the genre that you have chosen.

TURBOSALT responds:

Im not a professional either, I just love what I do. it's definitely made for the game it's supposed to be in, thank you. : )

Someone Frontpage this! 5/5

GameBoyFireworks responds:

Thanks Belthagor!

It's really well made and I like that you sing in french. It's a very nice language, the highlight of the track for sure. Has a modern disco feel to it. The lyrics are well thought out. The vsts you used have a professional quality sound. It has a nice flow. Could use a bit of reverb on the vocals. Overall a great composition, 5/5 -R4R

yunqatsi responds:

Thanks for the review!! Ye the vocals are a bit of a mess, I literally recorded the French part with cheap Marley earphones, don’t have much material x)

This is hilarious. I like this.

VoicesByCorey responds:

We like this too...and the ladies 😏

I like it. It's tall, dark, and handsome, and describes the subject matter well. Volume level is okay. I think it could use a bit more tempo changes though. Larger variations for dramatic effect. I like the effects at 2:40+ so you could experiment with that. A digital sound that sounds like a new playable instrument. I'm not sure if that helps inspire you though. What did you use to make this?

5/5 -R4R

TheRealFool responds:

Thanks for the review, glad to hear you liked it! I used Ableton 10 and mostly used echos and delays, pretty sure the effect you're talking about was an echo on the melody synth.

Well made composition. Bright and cheerful. Lovely hints of old dos game tracks and celtic inspiration as the previous comment said. I like the ending the most, and I look forward to playing the game when it's out. :D The retro games usually have a melodic line with mildly annoying sounds in it though, but the tracks are well made so you don't really notice it. See: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4H5M5FAGq0c I think I will vote... 5/5.

wobwobrob responds:

That Space Bats soundtrack is craaaaazy!

Good track but a bit too much repetition. 4.5/5

MajorMusic responds:

It's a Hymn so it repeats twice.

I agree with the dynamic range part. The song is really good and has vocals - yay! Maybe some differences in velocity of notes in chords in the piece would make it sound more interesting, for example the highest note plays at top, leading to lowest note least velocity in a single chord, and then the second time the same chord is used, the opposite with velocity. IDK I just think it would sound better that way. The song is a little sharp but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Pan occasionally left and right in an automation clip might be nice as well. Also the song sounds really good the way it is right now.

Aydin-Jewelz123 responds:

Nice one dude, great tips! Gonna jot those down for future reference.

Never really tinker much with velocities of notes, only really on piano or orchestral bits and even then I would never have thought to do what you suggested! It does sound pretty neat, especially to add some flavour to the piece without going through and having to completely change sections. I guess it changes the emphasis right?

Panning too, I usually pan things as I go but here I was more concentrated on just getting a loud, complicated sound and left the panning to the end. By then I'm kinda familiar to how it sounds so didn't do much in terms of panning outside of the sweepers.

Will have a dig at those sometime and see if I can improve the track! Sure does make sense in my mind, just a case of figuring out where to do it.

Cheers dude
