Memory of speaking to my parents in Bulgaria

Posted by Belthagor - 2 weeks ago

When I was young my mother said to me "You won't believe how intelligent you become if you learn how to do something simple by yourself."

As of a while ago we have automated cash registers. A person is still working there but his job is simple and he makes enough for food and rent because he can work longer. His job is to show some of the new customers how to use it. Unlike a cashier who has to move thousands of products a day through a scanner.. each person uses their arms for a short time to scan what's in their cart at costco. I think this is really intelligent and kind of a store to do because it doesn't wear anyone out and with years people may even gain some strength in their arms based on what they buy regularly.
